Valuable administrator's tool

Allow administrators to manage web application files.

JEExplorer is very useful as an administrative tool allowing the managing of files in your web applications, f.ex. log files, user uploaded content or temporary data created by the application.

User file management

Allow users to manage their files through an easy interface.

Using JEExplorer users can be allowed to manage their own files on the server using a friendly and familiar interface, f.ex. documents and media files. Among other options, JEExplorer allows users to have their own home directories on the server.

File access via web browser

Manage files from anywhere via simple web browser.

JEExplorer allows file management on the server using only a web browser. There is no need to configure users and firewalls on the server or install additional software on the user machine, as with f.ex. FTP.

No permission problems

Access files with the permissions of the application server.

JEExplorer accesses the file system with the permissions of the application server. Therefore, using JEExplorer you can edit and delete files and directories created by the application itself, such as logs and temporary data, which would not be possible by f.ex. logging in as an FTP user.

Feature highlights

  • Easily integrated with existing applications.
Simply add the jar and the JSP file. JEExplorer has no external dependencies (no additional jars) and does not require editing web.xml deployment descriptors or server configuration files.
  • Minimal server environment requirements.
JEExplorer is backwards compatible down to 1.3.x versions of the Java runtime environment and requires no changes to existing application or server setup, making it ideal for heterogenous, hosted environments.
  • Minimal user browser requirements.
JEExplorer is pure HTML on the client side and works with or without JavaScript. It also does not use frames, making it easy to integrate with existing pages and page flows.
